Paul R. Fleming, 93, of Indiana, PA and formerly of Emeigh Run, PA, died Monday, January 27, 2020 at his home.
The son of George W. and Elizabeth M. (Davis) Fleming, he was born on April 12, 1926 in Alverda, PA.
Paul served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 2nd class aboard the USS TARAZED during World War II.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed spending time at Yeabutt Camp, a hunting camp in Northern Clinton County. One of Paul’s favorite hobbies was being an amateur radio operator.
For thirty-eight years, Paul worked as a millwright at Bethlehem Steel.
Paul is survived by his wife: Elva (Greene) O’Hearn Fleming of Indiana, PA, his children: Paula K. Fleming and husband, Delbert McElwee of Cherry Tree, PA; Ross J. Fleming and wife, Ann of Nicktown, PA; Kathy L. Fleming of Palm Coast, FL; Guy A. Fleming and wife, Suzanne of Emeigh Run, PA; his ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren;
his step-children: Linda Jane Ferringer and husband, Lynn of Hawthorne, PA; Ronald James O’Hearn and wife, Betty of Indiana, PA; James R. O’Hearn, Jr. and wife, Sheila of Lucernemines, PA; his five step-grandchildren; his 2 step-great grandsons and his brother Edwin Fleming and wife, Linda of Fort Mill, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife: Pearl Jane (Davis) Fleming, who passed away on April 11, 2010; his granddaughter: Jen Sturgill and his siblings: Rowena Potts; Arthur Fleming; Lysle Fleming and Meriam Shaw.
Family and friends will be received from 7-9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020 and on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. Pastor Paul Yarnal will officiate. Interment with the observance of military honors will follow at Uniontown Cemetery in Cherry Tree, PA.
