A number of defendants are scheduled for sentencing in Indiana County Court today, including several who will be sentenced in multiple cases.
- 25-year-old Marquice Mann of Indiana will be sentenced for guilty pleas to defiant trespass and possession of marijuana. He is currently in the Indiana County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing next month on charges of robbery, kidnapping for ransom, kidnapping to inflict injury, unlawful restraint, recklessly endangering, theft, and false imprisonment. In that case, he and a woman are accused of holding another woman hostage in order to collect a drug debt at an apartment in White Township in November.
- 34-year-old Lamar Virgil Clemons of Indiana will be sentenced in two cases. He was found guilty in a non-jury trial before Judge Mike Clark on charges of felony possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, and in a second case involving methamphetamine, Judge Clark found him guilty of felony depositing, storing, or disposing of chemical waste.
- 47-year-old Freddie Sherman Barker of Vintondale will be sentenced for possessing a precursor in a methamphetamine case, and for possession with intent to deliver in a second meth case.
- 52-year-old Stephen Czerniec Jr. of Indiana will be sentenced for statutory sexual assault of a child eleven years or older and for child pornography. Police said Czerniec had sexual relations with a juvenile he picked up in Clymer and also sent nude photographs and text messages.
- 38-year-old Jason Lee Vermeulen of Export, Westmoreland County, will be sentenced for a plea of no contest to statutory sexual assault of a child eleven years of age or older. It involved a girl who was more than eleven years old and less than sixteen on December 31st, 2018 in Black Lick Township.
- Andrew McDermott of Blairsville will be sentenced for harassment.
- Dennis Patterson of Clymer, for criminal mischief.
- Shawn Lydick of Creekside, for driving while suspended.
