Another local representative of state government has announced their plan to run for reelection.
State Representative Jim Struzzi has formally announced his intentions to run for a second term of office. Struzzi, the former president of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, was first elected in 2018, taking over the district represented by Dave Reed. Struzzi currently serves on several house committees, including Appropriations, Human Services, and Urban Affairs and is the secretary of the Insurance Committee. He was also recently appointed to the Children and Youth Committee, and announced his intention to introduce a resolution to direct an advisory committee statewide investigation into the state’s children and youth services.
In his statement, Struzzi said that he intends to continue to focus on the elimination of property taxes, and to solve the growing drug problem in our community. He is also championing a bill that’s called “Cody’s Law”, which would charge an individual who intentionally causes bodily injury to a person with a physical or intellectual disability with aggravated assault, which is a second-degree felony.
Earlier this week, State Senator Joe Pittman and State Representative Jeff Pyle announced their intention to run for re-election.
