COWANSHANNOCK TOWNSHIP
State police in Kittanning have issued reports on a number of accidents that occurred during Saturday’s snowstorm. One of them on Route 85 in Cowanshannock Township resulted in injuries to a Creekside woman and to a Shelocta teenager.
Police say 22-year-old Ryan George of Shelocta attempted to turn left from North Street in Yatesboro, but pulled into the path of a vehicle operated by 62-year-old Cynthia Smeltzer of Creekside. The two collided and Smeltzer was injured.
Smeltzer was taken to the Indiana Regional Medical Center with injuries of unknown severity. A 16-year-old girl riding in George’s car suffered unknown injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
WEST KITTANNING
An Indiana man was injured last Thursday in a crash in West Kittanning. Police say 67-year-old Edwin Bower of Kittanning failed to stop at the intersection of First Avenue and Arthur Street, colliding with a vehicle operated by 20-year-old Anthony Wolfe of Indiana. Wolfe was taken to the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Neither Bower nor his passenger were injured.
