Some of Indiana County’s state legislative representatives are announcing their intentions to run for re-election to their respective offices.
State Senator Joe Pittman, who represents Indiana and Armstrong counties along with portions of Butler and Westmoreland Counties, announced that he will seek his first full term in the upcoming election. Eight months ago, Pittman was elected to take over for retiring State Senator Don White. Pittman has served in the past as Senator White’s chief of staff. He currently serves as the vice-chair of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and is also a member of the Appropriations, Banking, and Insurance, Communications and Technology, Game and Fish, and Judiciary Committees, and is also a member of the PENNVEST board of directors.
In an interview on Indiana in the Morning, Pittman hinted at a possible re-election campaign. At the time, Pittman said that he would focus on the next ten months in office, but said he would like to serve another four years.
Also of note, State Representative Jeff Pyle announced over the weekend that he will once again run for reelection. Pyle has represented the 60th District of the State House since 2005, and has also served on several house committees.
