The Pittsburgh Penguins had to work overtime, but they pulled off a 2-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night.
The Pens and Red Wings were unable to score in the first period, but Detroit took a 1-0 lead in the second with Filip Zadina scoring on the power play at the 3:29 mark. The Pens tied it in the third period with another power play goal from Bryan Rust at the 3:36 mark.
In the overtime period, Sidney Crosby tallied his sixth point since his return with the game winner 1:33 into overtime while the Pens had a four-on-three power play.
Pens Goalie Matt Murray stopped 36 of 37 shots to earn the #1 star of the game.
