Today, the Indiana County NAACP will hold their annual program to pay tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Grace United Methodist Church will host this year’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Program and Fellowship Luncheon, which is today starting at 11:00. This year’s program is titled “Code Red: Re-imagining Destiny and a New Frontier”. This year’s guest speaker is IUP graduate and current student support coordinator for the Washington D.C. Mayor’s Commission for African American Affairs Kristin Shymoniak. Carolyn Princes with the Indiana County NAACP said that even back in her college days, she could tell that Shymoniak would go on to greater things.
Princes added that she also wants to focus on the young people who could be the new leaders.
Today’s event is free and open to the public.
