Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. has not yet issued a report on a fatal accident late yesterday afternoon in Montgomery Township.
State police say a 14-year-old Commodore boy riding without a seat belt on in a pickup truck was killed when the truck’s driver ran a stop sign on Arcadia Road and collided with an SUV on Cherry Tree Road, causing the pickup to overturn. Arcadia Road becomes Moyer Road at that intersection, and the two vehicles came to rest on the side of Cherry Tree Road near Moyer Road.
Police say the driver of the pickup truck was an 18-year-old boy. He had two passengers…the boy who was killed and a 19-year-old Smicksburg woman. The SUV was operated by a 32-year-old Cherry Tree woman.
The 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene. Police do not say if anyone else was injured.
