David B. Shaffer, 51, of Hillsdale, PA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2020 while in his home surrounded by his loving family
The son of Daniel B. and Ethel L. (Ashbaugh) Shaffer, he was born on April 18, 1968 in Indiana, PA.
On April 8, 1999, he married Arleen M. (Manantan) Shaffer and they have shared over twenty years of marriage together.
He earned a certificate for completing the Office Automation Program at the Business Computer Training Institute.
David’s career included work as a supervisor at Precision Circuits and employment at TTM Technology both located in the state of Washington. He last job was with Amfire Mining.
He served God together with his wife, Arleen, as she serves the Lord in her position as the coordinator of Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide. His favorite interests revolved around his faith and family. He loved reading his Bible; listening to Praise & Worship songs; attending prayer meetings and sharing the word of God in Bible studies.
David loved traveling. His trips led him to the Philippines three times; to a number of locations in Canada and many journeys across the United States.
He loved animals and could be found enjoying gardening; fishing and hunting.
David is survived by wife: Arleen M. Shaffer and his two daughters: Nicole M. Shaffer and Chessa K. M. Shaffer and his mother, Ethel L. Shaffer, all of Hillsdale, PA; his siblings: Melissa Owade and husband, John of Connellsville, PA; Beverly Scott and husband, Steven of Clymer, PA; and Michael Shaffer and wife, Tammy of Windber, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents: Elmer and Edna Ashbaugh and his paternal grandparents: Michael and Laura Shaffer.
Family and friends will be received from 3-5:00 p.m. and 7-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. During the evening visitation a 7:30 prayer service will be held with Pastor Van Porres. An 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 16, 2020 with Pastor Jessie Maghacot. Interment will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Grant Twp., Indiana, Co., PA.
