The Indiana Area School Board meets tonight with an agenda that includes the usual conference requests and discussion of some district policies, grants, and cooperative agreements. But tonight’s schedule also includes quite a few personnel moves. January is traditionally when many teachers send their retirement notifications to their school district, and that’s the case for tonight.
The board will consider accepting with regret retirement letters, all effective on the last teacher day of the current school year, from:
- Junior High Business, Computer, and IT teacher Valerie Haney, English Language Arts teacher Bonnie Proctor, Art teacher Bonnie Kurcsics, and English/Reading teacher Lorrie Gallo
- East Pike Elementary teachers Margaret Soukup, Natalie McKee, and Debra Dotts-Patterson
- Senior High Mathematics teacher Mark Zilinskas and Art teacher Arlene Miller
- Horace Mann Elementary teachers Pat McKee and Katie Bungo
The board will also take up the retirement request of Senior High administrative assistant Bonnie Myers, effective June 2nd.
The Purchase Line School Board holds a work session tonight. They have not published an agenda.
