Pennsylvania State Police troopers were kept busy over the New
Year’s holiday period.
Following their Christmas holiday enforcement efforts in which no motorists were killed on roads patrolled by Pennsylvania State Police, spokesperson Ryan Tarkowski says troopers once again stepped up patrols during the New Years holiday period from December 31st through January 2nd. During that time, State Police troopers investigated 460 crashes, including 87 with injuries and one involving a fatality.
Troopers also made 279 arrests for driving under the influence and issued more than 6,400 tickets for speeding and 476 for failing to buckle up
