Tomorrow, several people will take on the challenge of the Polar Bear Plunge as they will jump into the Conemaugh River for a good cause.
The Blairsville Boat Launch will once again be the site of the annual Polar Bear Plunge, which this year will benefit the family of Rylee Hughes, who sustained multiple burns after falling into a campfire. Rylee has said she also wants to have some of the money go to purchase items at the hospital to assist others with similar injuries.
One of the organizers of the event, Ab Dettorre, said that last year, the Polar Bear Plunge had to utilize a temporary water tank from the fire department to complete the challenge, but this year, things look safe enough to head back to the river.
If you wish to take part in the Polar Bear Plunge, you can register at the event tomorrow. The Polar Bear Plunge starts at noon at the Blairsville Boat Launch.
