After a 10-win season and NCAA Division II playoff berth in 2019, the IUP football program boasts eight total selections on Don Hansen Football Gazette All-Super Region 1 Teams announced Monday morning.
IUP put four players on the first team, including senior center Jeff Arnold, senior defensive end Dondrea Tillman, senior linebacker Damon Lloyd and junior cornerback Nazir Streater.
The four first team selections have a combined 11 career all-region selections among them, with Arnold collecting four. Lloyd finished his career as a three-time all-region pick, with Tillman and Streater each earning their second all-region nod in 2019.
Arnold was one of the best linemen in Division II as he was one of eight finalists for the Gene Upshaw Lineman of the Year Award. He also earned second team Associated Press (AP) Division II All-American honors and was a first team All-Super Region 1 pick by the Conference Commissioners Association (CCA).
Lloyd joined Arnold as a second team AP All-American and first team CCA all-region selection, and was a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award, given to the top small college defensive player. He was the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year and finished the season seventh in the country with a career-high 122 total tackles.
Tillman was also a second team CCA All-Super Region 1 and first team All-PSAC West selection in 2019. He was among the conference leaders with 11.5 tackles-for-loss and 7.5 sacks, was tied for sixth in Division II with four forced fumbles, and had a 51-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Streater earns his second career all-region honor in his first year at IUP after transferring from LIU Post. The corner tied for 14th in Division II with both six interceptions and 17 total passes defensed while finishing third on the team with 63 total tackles and adding 6.0 tackles-for-loss.

IUP adds three second team, one third team selection
The Crimson Hawks had three more offensive players earn Hansen Gazette all-region honors, including second team selections in sophomore receiver Duane Brown and junior lineman Josh Dauberman. Graduate quarterback Quinton Maxwell was a third team selection.
Brown, an all-purpose threat, was among the national leaders in total touchdowns (19, seventh), punt return average (14.7, eighth), points scored (114, 10th), receiving touchdowns (13, 14th), yards per reception (19.9, 22nd) and receiving yards (937, 32nd).
Dauberman started all 12 games at right guard and was a first team All-PSAC West selection for one of the top offenses in Division II. IUP averaged 44.2 points and 476.7 yards per game, putting up six games of at least 50 points and 500 yards.
Maxwell had arguably the best season of any quarterback in program history. The Ohio University transfer set IUP records with 3,129 passing yards and 38 total touchdowns, with his 34 passing scores the second most in a single season.
Senior linebacker Nick Amendola helped form the region’s best linebacking duo with his second team all-region selection. He finished second on the team with 74 tackles and four interceptions, and third with 8.5 tackles-for-loss, 5.0 sacks and nine passes defensed.
Don Hansen Football Gazette
The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen’s National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
Don Hansen’s FB Gazette began selecting Division II All-Region squads in 2003.
The first-and second-team All-Region selections advance to a national ballot from which the 2019 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America team will be named in early January.
