No one was hurt but one driver was charged with driving under the influence in a crash in West Wheatfield Township on December 20th. State police say that the crash was on Route 22 near the intersection with Clyde Road. A Chevy Cobalt driven by 48-year-old James Brewer of South Fork collided with a Volvo Truck driven by 39-year-old Brent Thompson of Penn Run. Brewer was charged with DUI.
State police are investigating a theft of a gun at a home in White Township. Police say that on December 2nd, someone got into a home in the 300 block of East Pike Road and stole a Marlin 30-30 from the home of Jeffrey Bertino of Indiana. The gun has a wood stock and a black barrel. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-357-1960.
State troopers are investigating a case of theft by deception. Police say that on December 26th, they were notified that a 73-year-old Homer City woman was scammed online out of $1500. The investigation is continuing.
State police say someone stole a check out of a car in White Township. Troopers say that a $50 bank check was taken from the car of a 66-year-old Clymer man. The investigation is not moving forward as the man has cancelled the check and is declining prosecution.
