The high school holiday basketball tournaments begin today, including a game featuring the Homer Center girls against Conemaugh Valley today at the Richland Tournament. (Airtime 1:45 on WCCS). The Homer Center boys take on Derry in the same tournament this afternoon, and the Blairsville boys will play the host school this evening.
Other games featuring area teams include the Indiana boys in Jeannette against Serra Catholic, while the Indiana girls travel to Latrobe to play Connellsville.
At Apollo Ridge, the Saltsburg boys will take on the host Vikings, while the Trojans’ girls will play Highlands.
At Central Cambria, the United girls play Everett and the Penns Manor girls take on Central Cambria.
The United boys will play Tussey Mountain at the North Star Tournament. The Blairsville girls will lay North Star at that same tournament.
West Shamokin’s girls host Ligonier Valley at their holiday tournament today and the Wolves’ boys will play Burrell.
At Purchase Line, Ligonier Valley’s boys will play Harmony and Purchase Line will take on Clearfield.
At Cambria Heights, it’s Northern Cambria against Johnstown and Purchase Line versus Cambria Heights.
