IUP senior linebacker Damon Lloyd is among 35 NCAA Division II finalists for the seventh annual Cliff Harris Award as the nation’s top small college defensive player. The award includes players from almost 500 NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA colleges and universities. A total of 95 finalists were announced on Monday.
Lloyd was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year for 2019 and earned first team All-Super Region One honors for the second time in his career. He had a career-high 122 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, a pick-six interception and five more passes broken up.
IUP finished ranked 21st in the final American Football Coaches Association Division II Coaches’ Poll of 2019.
