On this day after Christmas, gas prices in Indiana County on average held steady.
According to Triple-A, the average cost of a gallon of gas in Indiana County is $2.83 a gallon, the same as it was last week. Gas prices at the Sheetz stores in Indiana and Homer City are now at $2.89 a gallon, while the Kwik Fill in Homer City reports gas prices are at $2.75 a gallon. The Blairsville Sheetz stores are also reporting $2.89 a gallon gas prices, while Accent Quik Mart in Blairsville has a gas price of $2.75 a gallon.
The lowest average gas price among the neighboring counties is, in fact, in Westmoreland County, with gas prices at $2.75 a gallon. Armstrong and Jefferson Counties are just above Indiana County with a $2.84 a gallon average each. Clearfield County checked in with a $2.85 a gallon average and Cambria has a $2.86 a gallon average.
The statewide average, according to Triple-A, is $2.75 a gallon, which is a penny less than a week ago, and down four cents from last month.
