State police have been busy with DUI cases as well over the last few weeks. This includes a case where the driver lead police on a chase in West Wheatfield township.
Troopers say that at 10 PM on December 20th, they responded to a crash at 151 Jones street. When they made contact with the driver, 55-year-old Nancy Penrose of Robinson, they determined that she was under the influence of alcohol. After several requests to turn off the car and step away, she fled from the scene in the car, causing the pursuit. Troopers had to deploy spike strips to stop the car. She was ultimately arrested for suspicion of DUI, fleeing and eluding, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest. Charges were filed with district judge Guy Haberl. She was eventually lodged in Indiana County Jail.
