People are expected to hit the road for the holiday season today and State Police making sure that everyone remains safe on the roads.
Traffic is expected to increase today and tomorrow as people start travelling for the holidays, and that may mean some aggressive driving. Also, with the holiday season comes parties and the possibility of people driving under the influence of alcohol. In an interview on Indiana in the Morning, State Police Public Information Officer Cliff Greenfield said that drivers can expect to see an increased police presence.
Greenfield added that motorists should use PA 511, which is available in several formats, as part of your pre-trip preparations.
A safety kit is also recommended for your vehicle optimized for winter weather, which would include blankets, gloves, and other items to help you keep warm should you become stranded on the roadway.
