The Salvation Army is getting close to the end of their Red Kettle Campaign, but they are very short of their goal for the season.
With just a few days before Christmas, the Salvation Army of Indiana County’s red kettle campaign as of Thursday raised 49.5% of their $75,000 goal for this year’s campaign. This is a pattern that has been seen in several Salvation Army chapters throughout the Western Pennsylvania region. Some of the reasons given for the low numbers for the Red Kettle campaign was the compressed holiday season this year, as this time around, there were only 28 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Captain Denise Martin said that the money that is raised from the Red Kettle campaign is used year round.
Red Kettles will be set up today, tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday at the Walmart stores in Indiana and Blairsville, along with the Giant Eagle and BiLo markets in Indiana. You can also donate to a virtual red kettle online at https://wpa.salvationarmy.org/WesternPennsylvania/indiana
