There were no reported injuries but a White Township couple and their pet dog were driven from their home due to a fire Sunday morning on Fulton Lane.
Indiana County 911 reported the first call went out at 8:05 Sunday morning for Creekside, Indiana, Marion Center, Clymer, Plumville and Elderton fire departments for the house fire at 207 Fulton Lane near Creekside. Creekside fire chief Cody Hitchings said that when they arrived, fire was already visible through the second story windows, and he called for a second alarm to double the manpower on-scene. He reported that the second floor of the home was gutted and areas of the first floor took on mild to heavy water and smoke damage.
The names of the homeowners have not been released, but Larry Stewart, a neighbor, said he was taking care of them at his house.
Hitchings believes the cause of the fire was electrical in nature, but he has asked the State Police Fire Marshals to confirm the cause. That investigation will begin on Monday.
