Today will be a ceremony to pay tribute veterans as wreaths will be laid at cemeteries across the county and the nation.
Wreaths Across America Day, which honors fallen members of the military, will be marked in Pennsylvania and around the world Saturday. During Wreaths Across America Day over a million wreaths will be placed on the graves of veterans in over 1,600 participating cemeteries in all 50 states.
Indiana County will take part as the Wreaths for Indiana County Veterans Committee will hold a ceremony today at noon at the Indiana County Courthouse to lay a wreath at the Indiana County Veteran’s Wall. As that is being done, 177 volunteers from all over Indiana County will lay similar wreaths at the entrance of every cemetery in the county. Local churches are also being asked to ring their bells to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to protect the country.
