An Indiana native will return to the New York stage as Count Dracula.
Reports say that Matthew Amendt will be a part of an Off-Broadway production of “Dracula” that will start early next year. Amendt, a graduate of the Indiana School District class of 2000, will take the title role of Count Dracula in a revival of both “Dracula” and “Frankenstein”. This comes after Amendt took on the title role in the presentation of “Hamlet” at the Pittsburgh Public Theater that was met with rave reviews from Pittsburgh theater critics.
Amendt has also recently been in the cast of “Bernhardt/Hamlet” on Broadway, and has been a part of several productions of Shakespeare’s plays.
Amendt will join the Classic Stage Company for the show, which will begin previews on January 14th, and both shows will officially open February 17th.
