An important service offered by the ARIN Intermediate Unit in Indiana is no longer going to be available as of next Wednesday.
ARIN has announced that fingerprinting for criminal background checks will be discontinued after more than ten years because the service has become “cumbersome and not cost effective” in recent years.
The Identogo.com system helps people required to have criminal background checks, such as those in the education field and other who have contact with children.
After ARIN stops offering the service on December 18th, the nearest Identogo locations will be in Kittanning and Punxsutawney. However, ARIN says it is anticipated that there will be another Indiana location in the future. If you want to use the service at ARIN before next Wednesday, you should visit Identogo.com to make an appointment as soon as possible. After the available openings are filled, no more will be opened up.
