The average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is going down slightly over the last week, while there is a bit of disparity for gas prices in Indiana County.
Triple A East Central reports that the average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is now at $2.76 a gallon, which is down two cents from where it was last week. As far as Indiana County’s average goes, the average cost is $2.84 a gallon. However, tracking prices on the local level, prices are varying.
As of this morning, the Sheetz at the corner of 4th and Philadelphia Streets in Indiana is reporting gas prices at $2.89 a gallon, as is Choice gas right across the street. But in Homer City and Blairsville, prices are nearly 15 cents cheaper, as the Sheetz stores in Homer City and Blairsville, and the Kwik Fill in Homer City, along with Accent Quik Mart in Blairsville report gas prices at $2.75 a gallon.
As far as surrounding counties go, the average cost of a gallon of gas in Westmoreland County is $2.82 a gallon, Armstrong County has $2.84 a gallon, Jefferson County is at $2.85 a gallon, Cambria County has $2.88 a gallon, and Clearfield is the highest average in the region with $2.89 a gallon.
Berks county has the lowest gas price average in the state at $2.63 a gallon. Crawford and Warren each have a $2.95 a gallon.
