Clymer Borough Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Northern Cambria man who is facing felony drug charges related to a traffic stop in August.
37-year-old Troy Bingaman was pulled over for a traffic violation on August 15th in the area of Franklin and Elm streets in Clymer. He was detained and a search of the vehicle was conducted after his passenger, a woman from northern Cambria, admitted to police that she had drug paraphernalia in the car. A search of her purse revealed a container with several needles and a spoon.
Police then searched the vehicle and seized a backpack owned by Bingaman, inside of which there were twenty stamp bags of suspected heroin, a bag of methamphetamine, 21 Klonopin pills, a cell phone, meth pipe, a book of “owe sheets”, a digital scale, and miscellaneous pipes, needles, and baggies.
The woman was told she would be charged by mail with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bingaman was released and told he would be charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and of paraphernalia, misbranding a controlled substance, and other offenses pending the investigation.
Drug lab results show the drugs the officers suspected, with the stamp bags pf heroin also containing fentanyl.
Bingaman has a lengthy history of criminal cases in Indiana, Cambria, and Clearfield counties. This case is currently listed as “inactive” until an arrest is made.
