State police have issued a number of criminal reports, including one in which the victim will not pursue charges against her boyfriend, despite multiple assaults on her. Police say a 27-year-old Saltsburg-area woman reported that her boyfriend strangled her on multiple occasions, to the point that she lost consciousness. The incidents occurred in Conemaugh Township. The woman refused to provide any further information.
An employee at the White Township Walmart store has been charged with theft for allegedly stealing money from a cash register. Police say it happened on November 20th, when 23-year-old Cameron Fadzen of Indiana was observed taking $200 from the register over the course of his shift. That investigation is ongoing.
A Sagamore man will be charged with multiple summary and misdemeanor retail theft offenses for stealing items totaling almost $845 from the White Township Walmart last month. Police say 37-year-old Robert Stripling stole the merchandise by walking out of the store without paying, and by under-ringing items at the self-checkout register. That incident is dated November 9th, and while police do not specifically say Stripling is the suspect in a November 17th theft at the same store, they do say it was a 37-year-old man from Sagamore driving the same model vehicle, a 2007 Chevy. In that case, a crossbow and case, with a total value of $386, were stolen.
Tools valued at $7,765 were stolen in a theft at the Tri Star Motors dealership along Route 22 in Burrell Township. It happened between 4 PM on November 16th and 7:30 AM on the 18th.
State police are also investigating a grinchy young man who was caught by a homeowner damaging Christmas decorations at a home along Glenwood Avenue in Glen Campbell last Friday night. Police say the boy is believed to have returned to the home later that night and poked holes in five tires on two vehicles. A witness saw him walking up the street near the Baptist church. He’s 5-feet-4 to 5-feet-6 inches tall, blonde, and about 14 or 15 years old. He was wrapped in a blanket and wearing jeans.
Indiana Borough Police have issued a batch of reports on a number of crimes, including a hit-and-run accident involving a driver who was operating his vehicle despite a suspended license. It happened last Monday at about 5 PM. Police say the suspect, 37-year-old William Balint of Indiana, fled the scene of the collision in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street. Charges of damage to attended vehicles or property driving under suspension, and following too closely were later filed against Balint before District Judge Guy Haberl.
23-year-old Samantha Riley of Indiana is charged with simple assault and harassment following an altercation with another woman October 15th in the 800 block of Wayne Avenue.
27-year-old Bethany Aiello of Indiana is charged with simple assault and harassment after an altercation with a man in the 900 block of Water Street early last Wednesday morning.
30-year-old Larry Griffith Jr. of Indiana is charged with public drunkenness, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a small amount of marijuana after borough police were dispatched for a report of a man lying on the street in the 1220 block of Oakland Avenue on the night of November 23rd.
Police say someone tried to break into a home in the 500 block of Locust Street. It happened between November 23rd and the discovery of the attempted burglary on Saturday night.
