The Penguins lost to the defending Stanley Cup champion Blues in St. Louis last night, 5-2. Five different Blues players scored and Jordan Binnington made 29 saves for St. Louis.
Penguins goals were scored by Sam Lefferty and Kris Letang.
Already playing without Sidney Crosby, the injury-plagued Penguins lost another star player, as defenseman Brian Dumoulin left the game with a lower-body injury early in the game and did not return. Bryan Rust, who was injured in the morning skate before Friday’s loss at Columbus (also by a 5-2 score), missed his second straight game.
The Penguins get a shot at redemption as they host the Blues on Wednesday night.
