Governor Tom Wolf on Wednesday signed three bills into law, one dealing with Sunday hunting and the other dealing with tobacco sales.
House Bill 97 and Senate Bill 473 prohibits the sale of tobacco products to anyone under the age of 21, or 18 years old if that person is a member of the active or reserves for any branch of military or a veteran who received an honorable discharge from the armed forces. The bill also expands the definition of tobacco products to include e-cigarettes and vaping devices, and bans those items from school grounds.
Wolf said he signed those bills into law because he felt it will be a bigger deterrent for kids.
Governor Wolf also signed Senate Bill 147 into law, which removes the Sunday hunting prohibition for three Sundays: One during rifle deer season, one during archery deer season and a third to be determined at the discretion of the PA Game Commission. Wolf said it will increase opportunities for hunters across the state.
The bill goes into effect in 90 days, meaning that Sunday hunting will not be in effect for this year, but it will be in effect for next year’s deer season.
