While the State System of Higher Education prepares for a ratification vote by its board of governors on a new contract for faculty at the state-owned universities, collective bargaining resumes today for coaches at the schools.
APSCUF represents both the faculty and the coaches. On Saturday, the union announced that its members had approved the tentative four-year contract reached in September, and sent it along to the State System.
Negotiations for the coaches will take place today at the State System offices, with more talks scheduled for December 5th and December 11th. After the last session on October 28th, the two sides said talks were productive and agreement was reached on several items, but “some significant, substantive issues” still needed to be resolved.
The coaches are working under the terms of a contract that expired on June 30th.
