The 32-foot tall Christmas Tree from E-Mar Acres in Saltsburg arrived in Downtown Indiana just before noon today and is now in place at IRMC Park, ready to go for the holiday season.
The small holiday booths and Santa’s house are up and Festival of Lights decorations are being distributed as Downtown Indiana prepares for the First Commonwealth Bank “It’s A Wonderful Life” Festival which kicks off Friday night. Rose Strittmatter of First Commonwealth Bank said that the company was excited as they are entering their 4th year of sponsorship.
Linda Mitchell of Downtown Indiana, Incorporated, said that there are going to be a few tweaks to the festival area to help get people into the spirit of the season.
Because of the preparations, today is the first day of the closure of North 7th Street from Philadelphia Street to Nixon Avenue, and that road will remain closed throughout the holiday season.
If you can’t make it downtown to see the tree being put into place, you can catch it on a special webcam feed by clicking here.
