State Representative Jim Struzzi and State Senator Joe Pittman have announced that the Commonwealth Financing Authority has approved a grant of $177,761 for the first phase of the Redding Run Road reconstruction project.
The funding will go to the project in Washington Township, which will help reconstruct what has been called one of the most heavily used roads in the township. The project will address the poor drainage and surface conditions for the road by repaving nearly one mile of the road starting at the Washington Township-South Mahoning Township border, and will also re-establish parallel ditch lines and re-stabilize the road’s shoulders.
The project will cost $253,945 and the funding was requested by the Washington Township and was awarded through the state’s Multimodal Transportation Fund.
