The No. 7-seeded Purchase Line Red Dragons upset No. 2 Portage, 25-6, Friday night in the District 6 1A football quarterfinals.
The Dragons scored on their first three possessions and dominated from start to finish. Kyle Day and Jacob Barnett scored two touchdowns apiece. Purchase Line outgained Portage in yardage, 357-124.
Next weekend, Purchase Line will play the winner of the Homer-Center (6) vs Juniata Valley (3) quarterfinal to be played Saturday night on WCCS AM 1160 and 101.1 FM (6:20 pm airtime).
