State police are continuing to investigate the death of a newborn child in Creekside.
Troopers say they were called out on Wednesday, November 6th around 11:20 PM to a home along Arch Street. County coroner Jerry Overman, Jr. requested that troopers respond to assist with the investigation. EMT’s were also called out to try and resuscitate the male child, but were not able to do so.
During the course of their investigation, troopers learned from the child’s mother that the baby was born prematurely at the mother’s Arch Street home earlier that night. Troopers also seized various items of drug paraphernalia at the residence. The DA’s office and the State Police Forensic Services Unit also assisted with the investigation.
The cause and manner of death are pending the results of an autopsy scheduled for today. The identity of the people involved has not been released.
