State police released the names of some outstanding speeders in Indiana County over the last month.
Troopers say that they are placing significant emphasis on the enforcement of speed limits, and every now and then, they come across some drivers that excessively speed on certain roads. In the month of October, troopers say that two such speeders hit triple digits as they drove in Indiana County. One such driver was 26-year-old Mark L. Brooke of Johnstown, who was caught going 110 miles an hour in a 55 mile an hour zone. Another was another Johnstown resident, 19-year-old Kayla Rosembaum, who was tracked going 100 miles an hour in a 55 mile an hour zone. Police did not release where these speeders were tracked.
Both drivers were charged with speeding. Troopers remind everyone that those who speed often place themselves, along with other drivers, pedestrians, highway maintenance workers and first responders at risk of injury or death.
