Indiana County first responders had a busy day Thursday as they dealt with multiple calls for weather-related incidents.
The calls came in starting in the afternoon as foul weather started to come through the area yesterday. The first was at 3:29 PM when Rossiter Fire Department was called out for a pumping detail on Railroad Street. About three hours later, Rossiter fire department would be called out again for utility lines down on Central Street. Cherry Tree fire department was called out at 8:50 PM for a tree down across Clarion Road. At the same time, Clymer Fire Department was called out for a tree and power lines down across Dixon Road. About five minutes later, Vintondale Fire Department was called out for a tree and lines down across Rexis Road in Buffington Township.
Commodore Fire Department would be dispatched at 9:55 PM for power lines down on Route 580 in Green Township. One minute later, Iselin Fire Department was called out for a tree down on Iselin Road in Young Township. Ten minutes after that, Blairsville and Blacklick firefighters were called for trees and lines down on Walnut Street. And Pine Township fire department was called out at 10:11 PM for lines down on Route 110 in Rayne Township.
Not only were crews were called out for the lines and trees down, Saltsburg was called to help with an incident on Route 286 in Westmoreland County at 8:45 PM. Ten minutes later, Saltsburg would be called to Westmoreland County again, along with Tunnelton fire department this time, for an incident on Pump Station Road. Fire departments from Blairsville, Blacklick, Plumville, Clymer, Cherry Hill, Rossiter and Commodore firefighters were called out for unknown incidents from 10:47 last night to 2:52 this morning.
