The Indiana County Center for Economic Operations hosted a visit earlier this week from the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance as they made a tour of some of the building sites in the county.
The visit on Monday was the first for the Alliance’s new president, Mark Thomas, who was making his first visit the county. Also in attendance were several other alliance team members, Mark Hilliard of the County’s Chamber of Commerce, Dana Henry representing the office of planning and development, and Byron Stauffer of the Indiana County Development Corporation. The visit was meant to familiarize Thomas and the other Alliance members with the county and what it has to offer.
Stauffer said that Thomas was very impressed with the leadership groups, and the business park sites and the investments made in those sites.
Among the places visited as part of the tour were the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining at the Corporate Campus business park in Burrell Township, the 119 business park, Windy Ridge Business and Technology Park, IRMC, IUP and several other locations.
This is the first time the alliance has paid a visit to Indiana County since 2016.
