Indiana County’s office of Planning and Development are getting ready for a “soft opening” for the Hoodlebug Extension that comes into Indiana Borough.
The soft opening will be held at Noon on Friday, November 8th at the trail head station at 8th and Church Streets in Indiana. Representatives from the office of planning and development will be on hand to discuss the progress made on the construction project. The trail head station will include a bike repair station, a solar-powered bike storage station and a rain garden.
The Hoodlebug Trail Extension into Indiana Borough starts at Rose Street in White Township, and goes along an already-established bike path that leads to the tennis courts on IUP Campus and turn onto Maple Street. After going by some of the dorms on campus, the bike path turns onto Garmin Avenue, then onto South Street, then Eighth Street to the borough’s parking lot at 8th and Church.
Officials are planning to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony next spring.
