From IUP Sports Information
Few upsets around the nation provided very little movement as IUP football remained at No. 19 in this week’s American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, released Monday afternoon.
The top 20 teams remain the same from a week ago while just one new team entered the rankings.
The Crimson Hawks remain at No. 19 after their 35-0 victory over Gannon Saturday as they improved to 7-1 on the year, 4-1 in the PSAC Western Division. Quinton Maxwell threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns while linebacker Damon Lloyd had a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown.
The top five in the rankings include Valdosta State (8-0) at No. 1, Ferris State (8-0) at No. 2, Minnesota State (8-0) at No. 3, Tarleton State (8-0) at No. 4 and Ouachita Baptist (8-0) at No. 5.
Other PSAC schools in the rankings include Slippery Rock (8-0) at No. 10, Kutztown (8-0) at No. 17 and West Chester (7-1) at No. 22.
