UPDATE:
37-year-old Andrew Walagura of Renfrew was ordered to serve three months to 190 days in Indiana County Jail for a charge of drug possession. As a result of the sentencing, he was paroled forthwith.
Also sentenced today was Crystal Thornsberry of Marion Center, who pleaded guilty to six counts of neglect of animals. The owner of a horse rescue operation that was based in Conemaugh Township and later in Rochester Mills, had problems at both locations with a number of horses found to be neglected and two were found dead in a field. She was ordered to serve a year of probation for each count of neglect of animals. The first three counts were ordered to run consecutively, and the remaining three counts will run concurrent to the others, so she will be on probation for three years.
Joshua Tyler Shepherd of Indiana was also sentenced today on charges of strangulation, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, and harassment. He was ordered to serve one year to one day less than two years in County Jail, and must also pay fines associated with each count.
And former SCI Pine Grove inmate Ryshawn Crawford was sentenced to four total counts of aggravated harassment by a prisoner, and single counts of assault by a prisoner, strangulation, simple assault and harassment. On top of the punishment he is already serving time for at SCI-Houtzdale, he was ordered to serve 21 months to five years for one count of aggravated harassment, and three to seven years for the other counts, and those sentences will run consecutively. For the charge of assault by a prisoner, he was ordered to serve 4-10 years in state prison, which will run concurrent to the other sentences.
WHAT WE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED
It’s a busy day today in the Indiana County courts, with a number of defendants to be sentenced, Plea Court, and some non-jury trials on the schedule.
37-year-old Andrew Walagura of Renfrew, Butler County, will be sentenced today for possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested last March after police went to a home on Josephine Avenue in White Township to arrest another defendant on today’s court schedule, 33-year-old Lamar Clemons of Indiana. While at the home to arrest Clemons, state troopers found a one-pot meth operation set up in a bedroom, leading to Walagura’s arrest and additional charges against Clemons.
As Clemons awaits a ruling on his motion to quash the evidence in that meth case based on a claim of illegal search and seizure, he will face a non-jury trial before Judge Michael Clark today for a July, 2018 arrest on charges of possession with intent to deliver and simple possession.
Other defendants scheduled for sentencing today are:
- Joshua Tyler Shepherd of Indiana, for strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering, and harassment.
- Crystal Thornsberry of Marion Center, the owner of a horse rescue operation who pleaded guilty to six counts of neglect of animals. She was based in Conemaugh Township and later in Rochester Mills, but ran into problems at both locations. A number of horses were found to be neglected, including two found dead in a field.
- Former SCI Pine Grove inmate Ryshawn Crawford will be sentenced on two counts of aggravated harassment by a prisoner. Crawford will also appear in Plea Court to answer five more counts of the same offense, and charges of assault by a prisoner, strangulation, simple assault, and harassment. He’s now housed at SCI Houtzdale.
The other three non-jury trials today are for violations of court orders, involving defendants Michael Leone of Smicksburg, Kadeem Meggett of Indiana, and Michael Stewart of Indiana.
Plea Court appearances are scheduled for:
- Nathan Pritt of Clymer, who is charged with strangulation, simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
- Robert Stillwagon of Indiana, charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.
- David Sterling White of Washingotn, PA, who is charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
- Leann Goss of Cherry Tree, for endangering the welfare of children, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Levi McMillen of Indiana, who’s charged with illegal dissemination of an intimate image.
- Danielle Twigg of Strongstown, on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Travis Kirbaugh of Punxsutawney, a convicted sex offender who is accused of failing to register as required with state police.
- Brandon Perine of Fallscreek, Clearfield County, on charges of possession of a controlled substance, of marijuana, and of drug paraphernalia, plus three traffic violations.
- Joseph Acker of Indiana, for possession of a controlled substance and two traffic violations.
