Jeanne M. Pecori, 96 of Indiana, PA (formally of Ernest) passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Beacon Ridge Skilled Facility, Indiana.
Born on February 3, 1923 in Punxsutawney to Louis and Rose (Lorenzo) Pecori, Jeanne was a lifelong member of the Church of the Resurrection (Assumption Church), Ernest.
Jeanne, affectionately referred to as “Aunt Jeanne” by all who knew and loved her, was a wonderful role model, putting her family and church before all others.
Over the course of her life, she was an active member of numerous religious and professional organizations. She served as a member and president of Parish Council, and a member of the Altar Rosary Society for the Assumption Church. As part of her life of service to her church, she was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Bernard’s #339, served as the Choir Director; as well as the Director of Religious Education – teaching hundreds of children how to praise God through song and prayer.
In addition, she used her special talents and love of music to coordinate programs with the children for Mother’s Day, May Crowning, Father’s Day, Christmas and Easter.
Professionally, Jeanne was the Credit Manager at Season-All Industries for twenty-five years. Prior to her time at Season-All, she worked for R&P Coal Company in the Ernest Mine Office. She was an active member of the Business and Professional Organization of America.
In addition, Jeanne made her home with her mother, Rose, and served as her primary caregiver for over thirty years.
Jeanne had numerous nieces and nephews who loved her. Two of her nieces, Ann Marie Riscinto and husband Nick and Erin Parisse and husband Sam held a very special place in her heart and shared in her life as well as Kristen, Jeff, Ellise, and Nathan Kozub and Joseph and Noelle Corsale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Pecori-Staffen and husband Emil, Amelia Pecori-Dunegan and husband George, Mary Ann Pecori-Wesolosky and husband John V. She was also preceded in death by her special lifelong love, John Kuzmovich.
A celebration of Jeanne’s life will take place on Monday, October 28, 2019 at the Church of the Resurrection in Ernest with viewing at 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 am with the Rev. Father Jim Morley as celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery Mausoleum in Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Church of the Resurrection, 347 Morris Street, Clymer, PA 15728, or Beacon Ridge Skilled Facility Fundraising, 1515 Wayne Ave, Indiana, PA 15701 – Attention Deb Fenner. All funds generated from this fundraiser will directly benefit the patients at Beacon Ridge, a place that was home to her for the past several years.
The family would like to take this time to thank Dr. Jamil Ahmed and the entire staff at Beacon Ridge for the love and care shown to “Aunt Jeanne.” Your abundant acts of kindness and compassion will always be remembered. In addition, the family would like to extend our sincerest thanks to Bishop Edward C. Malesic, Rev. Father William Lechnar, and Rev. Father Jim Morley for their spiritual support and guidance during the time of her passing.
