While White Township supervisors were not happy about it, they approved some extra work that is being required for the Green Light Go traffic light project for the light at the intersection of Ben Franklin Road, Indian Springs Road and Warren Road during last night’s meeting.
The extra work includes an inspection of the light pole to make sure it meets PennDOT’s specifications. Township Manager Milt Lady said that the work had not been anticipated by Township Supervisors and they just received word of it from PennDOT.
The extra work will put the project over budget by $2,875. Township supervisors voted 3-2 to proceed with the inspection, with Eugene Gemmell and George Lenz voting against it, saying that what was happening was not right. All five supervisors did approve notifying State Senator Joe Pittman and State Representative Jim Struzzi of the problems they are having with PennDOT.
In other business, the board of supervisors approved forming an ordinance that would prohibit hunting of any kind in the Township Recreational Parks.
