Indiana County Court will have sentencing hearings and a jury trial today.
The jury trial is for Ryan Price, who is charged with retail theft by under-ringing in an incident that happened on April 4th of this year. This marks the second time that the trial has been scheduled for Price, as his case was continued on September 23rd.
Sentencing hearings will be held today for Michael Anthony Carrozza of Ernest, who pleaded guilty to charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, providing false ID to law enforcement officers, making repairs or selling prohibited weapons and two summary traffic offenses. His court docket sheet lists that a count of prohibited possession of a firearm was ordered to proceed to court. This was for an incident on July 12th when police found him with drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun as well.
Carrozza pleaded guilty in a separate case to disorderly conduct charges prior to this incident and was told he was not allowed to carry a handgun.
Also due for sentencing today are:
- Timothy Boyle, who pleaded guilty to a charge of Simple Assault for an incident on September 13th, with charges of disorderly conduct-fighting and harassment marked as held for court.
- Salik Xavier Wright, who pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated assault for an incident on January 19th. He is from Franklin County and is serving time at SCI-Pine Grove for terroristic threats, robbery, assault and other crimes.
- Darna Tansmore of Indiana, who pleaded to a single count of endangering the welfare of children, while other charges, including a second endangering a child’s welfare charge, were marked as to proceed to court.
Hearings are set to begin at 8:30 today.
