The Indiana County DUI Task Force is conducting enforcement efforts this month, with DUI checkpoints, DUI roving patrols, and DUI mobile awareness.
District Attorney Pat Dougherty says focused enforcement efforts are targeting traditional fall activities, including the recent IUP Homecoming and Halloween parties where alcohol is served.
Task Force members will be on the lookout not only for those driving under the influence of alcohol, but also of drugs. Drug-impaired driving is increasingly becoming a problem, and it’s not as easily detected as alcohol.
The Indiana County DUI Task Force consists of various law enforcement agencies and is funded by a $10,000 grant from PennDOT.
