The annual Niche.com school district rankings are out, and Indiana County placed only one district in the top 250 as ranked by the online evaluator. Niche.com gives letter grades to all of the 497 school districts in the state, plus private schools. It also ranks each district building-by-building.
The top-ranked district in Indiana County is Indiana Area, which is rated the 99th best in the state. Indiana Area scored an “A” overall, including an A for its teachers, A-minuses for academics, clubs & activities, and health & safety. It scored B-pluses for college prep, administration, and resources & facilities; B’s for sports and food; and a B-minus for diversity.
Among the other school districts based in Indiana County, Homer Center scored a B-minus, with A’s in health & safety, food, and resources & facilities, and A-minuses in teachers and administration.
United got a B-minus, with A-minuses in health & safety and resources & facilities.
Blairsville-Saltsburg also scored a B-minus, but with no A’s or A-minuses.
Marion Center, Penns Manor, and Purchase Line each had an overall grade of C.
