The IUP football team has dropped to No. 22 in the latest AFCA Division II poll.
The Crimson Hawks had been No. 16 before the loss to Slippery Rock.
It’s the sixth straight week that the IUP appears in the rankings, debuting after its season-opening win over New Haven.
The top 12 teams in this week’s poll remain the same, including Valdosta State (6-0) at No. 1 with 30 first-place votes. Ferris State (6-0) earned a first-place vote and is No. 2, Minnesota State (6-0) is No. 3, Tarleton State (6-0) with a first-place vote is No. 4, and Ouachita Baptist (6-0) is No. 5.
Slippery Rock (6-0) stayed at No. 9 and West Chester (6-0) is No. 12. Kutztown (6-0) moved up three spots to No. 18 and East Stroudsburg (5-1) is receiving votes.
The Crimson Hawks play at Clarion Saturday with a noon kickoff.
