Preliminary hearings are scheduled today for the two men charged in three arson fires in northern Indiana County.
23-year-old Nicholas Leone of Creekside and 19-year-old Dylan Dalessio of Plumville are each facing 32 arson-related charges for two arson fires last December and one last January.
The two former Plumville firefighters are accused of setting fire to a barn along Route 954 in Creekside on December 21st; a storage building at Whitaker and Rudolph Roads in West Mahoning Township on December 29th; and an Amish furniture shop along Stephenson Road in West Mahoning Township on January 25th.
Dalessio and Leone were arrested on September 24th for the furniture store fire. Dalessio posted his $250,000 bond and was released, but when the charges were filed in the other two fires on October 1st, he was arrested again and jailed, with new bonds amounts of $50,000 for each fire. Leone remains in the county jail on the original $250,000 bond.
Police are investigating a total of eleven suspected arson fires in the last year, primarily in northern Indiana County.
Both Leone and Dalessio are due before District Judge Susanne Steffee at 2 PM.
