The Penguins won their second straight game, beating Minnesota on the road 7-4. It was the Pens’ first game away from PPG Paints Arena.
Patric Hornqvist, Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, Jake Huentzel, and fourth-liners Adam Johnson, Joseph Blandisi, and Sam Lafferty all scored for Pittsburgh. Johnson, Blandisi, and Lafferty all started the week playing for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton but were called up because the Penguins’ lineup has been decimated by injuries to Evgeni Malkin, Nick Bjugstad, Alex Galchenyuk, and Bryan Rust.
The Penguins are now 3-2. They’ll play at Winnipeg tonight (7 PM, 6:00 airtime on 92.5 FM U92). They lost to the Jets, 4-1 last Tuesday in Pittsburgh.
