Police in Clymer have charged two men with drug-related crimes after an incident on October 3rd after one of the suspects tried to run away.
According to a news release, this happened during a traffic stop at 9:14 PM near the area of Sherman and Seventh Streets. When police pulled the vehicle over, the driver, Brandon Wolfe was asked out of the car and searched. The officer found a glass pipe on Wolfe, and put him in handcuffs. After Wolfe allegedly threw the glass pipe into the woods, the officer put him in the back of the police car while he talked with Mark Tiger, the passenger in Wolf’s car.
While Tiger was being patted down, Wolfe got out of his handcuffs, out of the car and ran away. The officer chased Wolfe for about 50 yards before being caught in a nearby yard. When the officer returned, he put Wolfe back in the car, and called for backup to search the vehicle. Authorities found in a backpack in the car a bag of suspected methamphetamine, two bags with meth residue, a glass jar with over 20 empty bags and a bag of marijuana, a digital scale, a bag of 5 white pills marked with “904” and other drug paraphernalia. They also found more suspected meth in Wolfe’s wallet, along with some cash. A strip-search at the Clymer Police station revealed Wolfe had another bag of suspected meth hidden inside him and Tiger had a bag of marijuana in his sock.
Tiger was released to his girlfriend, but was told charges would be mailed to him. Wolfe was taken to Indiana County Jail on charges of felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and escape, along with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, of drug paraphernalia and marijuana, and resisting arrest along with summary traffic-related crimes. He remains in county jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is set for October 21st in front of district judge Christopher Welch.
