Indiana Borough Council met last night for their planning meeting and discussed the IUP homecoming weekend and the statistics that were released for Indiana Borough.
Indiana Borough Police Chief Justin Schawl said that while the numbers may look like there was more activity, he said that the numbers were due to a change in how they were keeping records.
In a brief summary of the activities of Indiana Borough Police over Homecoming weekend, he said that there were only five calls for noise complaints, and only one disorderly gathering call reported.
In other business, the borough had a presentation on the borough’s parking department, which included the goals for next year. Next year, the borough will have a state parking meter calibration done at no cost to the borough. The department will also focus on addressing existing garage and parking maintenance issues and promote and advertise the borough’s parking garage, as it is not being used to its full capacity.
The borough council was also presented by the Indiana Elks Lodge with a certificate to honor the borough with their efforts to fly the American Flag in the community.
